What is the Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign?
The Har Ghar Tiranaga Campaign aims to raise awareness of the Indian National Flag and increase the sense of Patriotism. The Campaign is scheduled to take place from August 9 to August 15, 2024.

The rally featured a huge 750-meter-long tricolour, symbolising the unity and pride of the nation. The participants held the tricolour, raised above their heads, and chanted ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ and ‘Vande Mataram.’ They were encircled by police officers for security throughout the march.
The event was held on the Chenab Bridge connecting Bakkal and Kauri in the Reasi district. The 1,315-metre-long bridge, 359 metres above the river bed, is the world’s highest railway bridge. The rally was attended by locals, students, officials, and security personnel, who came together to showcase their love and respect for the nation.
While providing details of the event, Reasi Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Paul Mahajan told ANI that the tricolour of almost 750 metres has been displayed at the railway bridge on the Chenab River. “We wanted to present our pride and respect for our country. This tricolour was made by the locals in just two days. We wanted to display the tricolour as the pride of the country on the world’s highest railway bridge to show the world our love for the nation,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head Post Office in Udhampur also launched a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign that involved both post office employees and customers. Mahesh Singh Jasrotia, Assistant Superintendent of Post, Udhampur Postal Division, said, “The postal department has participated in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. The national flag, ‘Tiranga’, is available at all the post offices. Anyone who wishes to put up a ‘Tiranga’ at their house can get it from our counters… I request everyone to be a part of this campaign…”
In another grand display, a 600-foot-long Tiranga was also rallied through the streets of Seppa in the East Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. The rally was organised as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative by the government to encourage citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes on August 15.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reacted to the event with praise and encouragement.
